Four layers, stacked for cold nights
Most covers look alike on the outside. What decides how long one lasts is the stack you never see. Here’s ours, from the top down.
Marine-grade vinyl skin
The outer shell is the same kind of vinyl made for boats, so sun, sleet and splashes don’t crack it early.
Sealed vapor barrier
Each foam core is wrapped before it goes into the shell. Steam stays out of the foam, which is what keeps a lid from getting waterlogged and heavy.
High-density foam core
Dense foam cut on a slope so rain and melting snow run off instead of pooling in the middle.
Metal reinforcement
A metal channel runs inside each half to stiffen the panel where it hinges and keep it from sagging.
Build sheet
One standard taper. Nine colors. The extras you need.
01 Taper
Every cover we build uses a 4″ → 2″ taper: four inches thick down the center fold, easing to two at the outer edge. That slope lets rain and snowmelt run straight off, while keeping the panels light enough to lift without a fight.
02 Vinyl color
Nine marine vinyls. Swatches are approximate on screen, so ask if you want to match something exactly.

Out on the deck
When the snow piles up, the heat stays in
A tight, properly sized cover keeps warm water from escaping into cold mountain air, which means your heater isn’t running all night to catch up.
The sloped top helps rain and melt slide off, and a snug skirt keeps leaves and pine needles out of the water. For a rental, that’s fewer surprise service calls between check-ins.

Get us three numbers and we’ll do the rest
Not sure you got it right, or the spa is at a rental you can’t reach? Tick “measure it for me” in the form and we’ll come out and do it.
-
Across, edge to edge
Run the tape across the top of the spa’s acrylic lip, outside edge to outside edge. Do it both ways. On a square tub the two numbers may match.
-
Round off the corners
Most spas have curved corners. Lay a straight edge along two sides, then measure from where they’d meet to where the curve starts. That’s the corner radius.
-
Check the old one
If your current cover fits well, measuring it works too. Note the skirt length (the flap that hangs down) and which way it folds.
-
Snap a few photos
A shot from above and one of a corner help us catch anything a tape measure misses. You can attach up to five in the form below.

Things people ask us on the phone
- How much does a cover cost?
- Standard spa covers with every measurement up to 90″ are $629.95. If any measurement is over 90″, add $99.95 ($729.90). Unusual shapes are priced after we have your measurements. Our monthly special adds FREE removal and disposal of your old cover, a $50 savings, through the end of the month. Add-ons are extra: a cover lift is $389.95 installed and replacement straps are $19.99, a cover cap is $49.95, and hot tub stairs are $189.95. Cover lifts need at least 18″ of clearance behind the hot tub and at least 6″ on each side. This month’s special: free removal & disposal ($50 savings), ends at month’s end.
- My spa is an off-brand or discontinued model. Can you still fit it?
- Yes. We build from measurements, not from a model list, so the brand on the side doesn’t matter. If you’re unsure of the numbers, we can come measure.
- How soon can I have it?
- Once your order is placed, it’s confirmed, and your new cover is measured, ordered and installed, along with any accessories you choose, within 7–10 business days. We stock most common sizes of new hot tub covers.
- Why are your covers thicker in the middle?
- Every cover we make has a 4″ to 2″ taper: 4 inches at the center fold, 2 at the edge. The slope sheds rain and snowmelt, and that profile keeps the cover easy to lift.
- How do I know it’s time to replace my cover?
- Common signs: it feels much heavier than it used to (often waterlogged foam), the middle sags and holds water, the vinyl is torn or brittle, or it smells musty. Send a photo and we’ll tell you what we see.
- I live out of state. Can you handle a cover for my rental?
- Yes. Send measurements and photos through the form, or ask us to measure on site, and we’ll work with your manager or cleaner on access and delivery.
- How does payment work?
- After you place your order, we’ll confirm your order and payment details with you. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
- What happens to my old cover?
- We take it with us when we drop off the new one and dispose of it. With this month’s special, that removal and disposal is free, a $50 savings.
- Will a cover lift work on my deck?
- Cover lifts need at least 18″ of clearance behind the hot tub and at least 6″ on each side. If you’re short on room, note it in the order form and we’ll talk through it on the call.
- Which way should the cover fold?
- It depends on where you stand to open it and whether a lifter is in the way. Pick “not sure” on the form and we’ll sort it out together on the call.
